Use of Accounts

The Dolphin 1Card enables students to access three separate prepaid accounts: Dolphin Dollars, Meal Plan (All Access or Block Plans) and Flex Bucks. Each account must be funded prior to use and has unique rules for acceptance and the roll over of funds (see the summary chart below).

Dolphin Dollars

Dolphin Dollars is a prepaid spending account offering a safe and convenient way to make purchases both on and off campus. It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash around campus. Dolphin Dollars are accepted as a form of payment at many campus locations and popular off campus businesses. Dolphin Dollars are welcomed at all campus dining locations and can supplement Meal Plans and Flex Bucks for students who have purchased these options. Value in Dolphin Dollars rolls over from semester to semester and year to year for as long as you are a member of the Jacksonville University community..

Meal Plan

The meal plan is a nutritionally balanced dining program available to those who wish to take advantage of a guaranteed number of meals per week. A meal plan is required for all residential students and meal plan units from the weekly meal plans are only accepted at the Riverview Dining Hall. Depending upon your meal plan, meal units must be used each week/semester and do not carry over to the next.

Flex Bucks

Flex Bucks are similar to cash value available on meal plans. Flex Bucks are only accepted at campus dining locations. Most meal plans have some Flex Bucks included. Flex Bucks are valid during the semester in which they were purchased. They do not roll over to the next semester or to the following academic year.
